Tony the turtle

Bronte at the Greek festival, where she wanted to go on a ride, but then didn't, and so the ride ticket was used to catch a fish which meant a turtle. I know - a tad complicated, but we ended up with Tony the turtle.

Aussie Wedding!

A lovely Aussie celebration for Jon and Eireann before the "real" one in Scotland

Afternoon tea with Mel

Mel came over for a bit of present giving, a bit of reading, and a bit of learning how to catch. Bronte was very attentive for all three!

Morning tea

Having a cup of tea with Nanna is a pretty nice thing to do.

Birthday cake

A day late due to jet lag, and Bronte couldn't see that it was a Frog - so it counted as a moderate-to-poor attempt.

Two!

Wow - two! This month Bronte has developed past and future tense ("I do it" becomes "I did it!"). She has also concentrated on counting - with successful counting, in order, to eleven. The word "umm" has now entered the vocabulary, and she is imitating everything (and remembering everything). The two year old is definitely there - she demands to do everything herself, and woe betide you if you help her without her asking for a hand first. Real conversations can be had now - including on the phone.

Toronto

Mum's conference was in Toronto. Toronto was a much harder place to entertain Bronte - maximum's of 6 + rain did not help. Neither did the time zone change from Vancouver - 3 hours ahead - which meant we were getting only 5-6 hours a night. A tough few days.

Niagara

The Canadian side of the falls is very... American

This is the boat we went on - Maid of the Mist

Bronte was not super impressed - the coat clashed with her pants

The ex-pats

Lovely catch up with Moose, Michelle and Max

Science centre

We travelled up false creek to the fantastic science centre. A couple of afternoons were spent here.

Granville Island Park

The local park where we were staying.

Inside play

It was just so lovely catching up with the Hood-Deshons. Henry liked Bronte, and Bronte like Lucy, and they all like goldfish...
