A day at the beach

Morning swim, then milkshake

A massive body surf with friends demands a massive milk shake.

Up at the beach

Easter and some sunshine for the beach. The Australia day storms had washed all the sand away but rock pools are more interesting anyway. And even better when you have friends to play with.

On task

After they cleaned the deck, they got onto the stairs. Ah - child labour.

Easter Bilby

Bronte sang up on stage this morning at parade with all the other Preps, doing the song and action to the Easter Bilby. She is hidden deep in the back row, but I did see participation which was very exciting.

park soccer

Finally it wasn't raining on a Sunday afternoon and we could make it back to GPS for a kick around and catch up.

Some updates

Time seems to be flying faster and faster with school drop offs, pick ups, child care, soccer, riding, talking, games, homework, ++++
such that not as many photos are taken,
and update time has slide by.
For Bronte, she has settled into school well: a lot of classmates are happy to see her and want to sit with her, and she always wants to go to school: which is all that you can ask for really. Little light bulbs are going off with reading, with more and more sight words known, and understanding the phonetics of words. She is learning how to play soccer, and loves chasing after the boys to get the ball off them (though she is not as good on defence). Her swimming has improved markedly such that one of the parent helpers commented that she was one of the best. Huh. Guess we just saved ourselves a lot of money from that lack of swimming lessons ;-)

For Zach, he has thankfully passed through Phase "Bitey"armed with some empowerment techniques from childcare and an ever increasing vocabulary. He is now up to 4-5 word sentences, and loves hiding to jump out and yell "surprise!" He is very cute, and cheeky - and very much knows it. It has been wonderful hanging out with him on our "at-home" days to get to know the boy without Bronte.

A taste of Bunya

A break from the children to show the work of our friend Cathy (cathykeys.com) from her latest exhibition.

A new uniform

When we first went uniform shopping Bronte just wanted the skort and top. But I am glad the dress request came out (with matching headband) - apparently the girls only want to wear the dresses till about grade three, and they are soooo cute :-)

Hanging out with Oliver at Rocks Riverside park - empty except for us (thank you rainy days)

Can you spot Bronte?
