Haircut!

After months of very strong resistance, Bronte finally agreed to a haircut. She later declared: "I like haircuts!"

Birthday time

The January birthday slot remains with Annika as baby boy has now lasted into Feb. Annika, the book worm, got the appropriate cake for the occasion.

Bed time

Bronte sending out some signals that perhaps it might be bed time...

Lone pine

The floods hit lone pine: the pigs needed to be moved, and the sheep shed was under water. But it was all in pretty good shape when we went for a visit. This is the first time we had made the lorikeet feeding - Bronte helped to hold onto the feeder, which was very cool!

Aussie cooking

The Keys-Flanagan crew went all out for Australia day

But Pavlova and lamingtons were our tribute. The pavlova was a great success - the lamingtons not so... but that was mum's fault with the chocolate sauce, rather than Bronte's coconut rolling skills.

38 weeks big

The weekend of the floods (week 37) - there were several contractions, and movement at the station. It all settled down though as the stress settled down, and as a consequence, mum continues to get bigger and bigger. I think this boy will be a late one as well.

More trike

Some more images of Bronte pedalling - she can now hoon along the street, but hasn't quite mastered the turn yet - preferring to put the feet down and manually shift it around.

Its a puzzle

This was one of the items that would have been safe if the flood had hit - the puzzle that Nanny and Bronte do every week

Some good news

In what has been a pretty heart wrenching few weeks, there was some good news - with Nanna's house missing innundation by ~20 cm. Many others were not as lucky - but it could have been a lot worse as the levels fell under predictions.

Even the lavender remains!

The flood line can be seen on the palings. The backyard was pretty much untouched.

2 years 8 months

The artistic side is coming out, with Bronte drawing not only her first "real" picture (Hoot), but also the first picture of herself. She continues to be very interested in her letters, and loves pointing them out to us, and learning new ones (n, e, r, z, t added now). She loves hosting - and tells her parents to "go away" whenever someone new is over to entertain. She is also enjoying playing in her room a lot more by herself - putting on her Dora CD, and dancing and singing to the songs. There have been a few toilet visits, but not trained yet. She is very very keen to meet her baby brother.

Snuggles with Nanna

A little accident

Successful toilet training feels just around the corner (and indeed, the number of successes are increasing) - but occasionally an accident does occur. Mind you, I think Bronte just like to use the mop.

Rocks riverside

Although it was still cloudy - several others also had the idea of cooling off at Rocks Riverside Park

Water play

2nd stop - a cool down in the outdoor tubs and some water face painting.

Park fun

The hubbies are all back at work this week, so the "work" mums were all in Brisbane and up for entertainment. First stop - park.

Sweaty cuddles

Mum has finally been able to walk at more than a waddle - and has been working up a sweat every afternoon. Zachary doesn't seem to mind.

Down at the spit

After a painful drive involving accidents on the freeway, and music festival traffic, we finally made it out to Southport spit to catch up with Aunties Mel and Kristina.

The park was more to Bronte's fancy than the waves - but she had to comfort Kristina after some reckless merry-go-rounding
