Silly smiles

Bronte now puts on either this face, or closes her eyes when you are trying to take a picture. Imagine her normal smile, and you can understand how gorgeous she was in her fish dress, beautiful shoes, and flower hat.

End of term 1

On the last day of term 1, the parents got to see the progress of their future ballet stars. That is, they were allowed to see, rather than just peeking through the curtain like I do every week. The teacher, Miss Simone, is wonderful with this mix of graceful, awkward, shy, outgoing, tired, and hyperactive girls and boys. Bronte has a natural grace and softness to her dancing that her mother never ever came close to achieving, though more importantly, she really enjoys it. We will sign her up for term 2.

In the back garden

Picnic before cuddles in the back garden with Nanna. A typical, yet perfect Monday event.

Zoe's turn

It was time for Zoe's party - another great afternoon in the park. Bronte manages to sit next to the birthday person at every party...

The Family Shoot

Our wonderful friend Kate needed family portrait practice on her way to becoming a professional photographer - so we put our hands up, and see the results below. If anyone is looking - I cannot recommend her highly enough!

From Neve

An awesome Zebra outfit arrived from Melbourne - thank you Neve!

Mum, Zach and Bronte - by Bronte

The second time Bronte has written her name by herself. The first time was the day before, and is stuck on the fridge.

13 months

Our cheeky boy is now a toddler - though his style is rather zombie-esque. He LOVES shoes, taking lids off pens, and playing with power switches. He is loud, very loud, and also very funny - putting buckets on his head, and poking his sister. He insists on feeding himself, hence the messy food shots. He wants to do everything his sister can do, and there is a constant stream of "no Zachy, sit down Zachy, no jumping on the couch Zachy" etc., and he is that kid where quiet = trouble.

Cuddles with Nanna

3 year 10 months - sports star

The biggest news this month was that Bronte learnt to ride a bike! Unfortunately, it has been a bit of a sick month, with sore tummies, and Bronte's first ever vomits. Corresponding with this was a regression at night time, with more cuddles needed, and creeping into the king bed at midnight. Other exciting achievements were learning to whistle (softly), and continuing to get better with writing her letters.

A party with Audrey

Audrey - one of Bronte's good kindy friends - had her 4th birthday party in the park. Which meant scooter and bike rides, pink marshmallow cake, and all her kindy friends to play with.

Sporty girl

Bronte is very co-ordinated. Not only co-ordinated but graceful - which is very much not inherited. In addition to batting a ball and riding a bike, she had a pretty good first go at roller blades.

The accomplished artist

Zach loves playing the piano, always asking to sit on the piano stool when we are in the study. Drawing, music - we might have an artistic boy here.

Dinosaur stomping

We caught the bus into the newly refurbished museum. We got to see orange sherbets' jewellery for sale in the shop - yay kate! Playsaurus place was a great place to hang out: quiet, big, and not too dangerous (except for the T-Rex).

Help on frisbee night

Dad needs to leave for frisbee at that awkward time of 6:30, so the Grandparents come over for dinner occasionally to help me out. The kids absolutely love seeing them.

New Shoes!

Zach loves shoes. Loves them. So to celebrate his new walking skills, he got a new paid of shoes (he was wearing his sister's pink ones before now). He likes the brown, but still prefers the pink.

Coloundra

A great weekend with a even dozen up the coast - 6 kids, 6 adults, and a lot of fun. Curramundi lake was flowing into the ocean, the shade was plentiful, and the milkshakes were cheap. Huge thanks to Kate for organising us all.

That special bond

We hadn't seen Grandad for a while (10 days!) and the welcome that he received from the kids was pretty special. Zach insisted on sitting on his lap and helping him finish dinner.
