NYE2010

Ava made a very grumpy Bronte all ok for NYE celebrations. A week away from friends was not a good thing.

Thumbs up!

Bronte has finally learnt the joy of thumbs up - here we are at Pt Arkwright escaping the traffic

Over the rain

But at least our homes are safe and dry.

Beach trip

Despite the bleak weather, a beach trip to Grandma and Granddads is always fun

Deserted

Southbank was empty as the water continued to tumble down - but it served the job as the "beach" Bronte was desparately after

Dr Ross

Dr Ross - prognosis negative. Bronte administers some treatment to "James" - her teddy from Santa whom she is now smitten with.

Christmas part 2

Merry Christmas all! Bronte has a great day, and was very patient waiting for her presents. She was outrageously spoilt - both by gifts and by cuddles with her cousins and aunties.

Christmas part 1

First up was the Healy Christmas - where the box was of course the big hit of the day. The girls also celebrated all the rain with their new umbrellas followed by a bath an a nap.

Play date

Ava kindly gave Bronte the pink outfit, while 2 tubs are a better idea than 1

Its a hoot!

After drawing just rivers (lines) and circles, Bronte came out with this. For those not in the know, it is "Hoot the Owl" off Giggle and Hoot (ABC show).

Baby ?

As Bronte and baby boy will be sharing this blog - thought we had better start showing him. This is at 32 weeks - he is going to be a giant.

2 years, 7 months

A picture of Bronte eating is apt for this month - as she is now eating far better. She is starting to learn her letters - A, B, M, O and S. She is also really enjoying playing in her room - both by herself, and also inviting everyone who comes and visits to play with her. As mentioned - she told her first story, and is loving pretend play. She is also an excellent help in the kitchen, and is very careful with her pouring and stirring. She helped Grandma put up the Christmas tree, and Christmas is going to be heaps of fun this year.

December gatherings

11 kids 4 years and less tested out the new renovations as we gathered for a December catch-up. The remaining G&N wedding bubbles were a big hit (thanks guys).

And at the end of the night, Ava and Bronte enjoyed some quiet (and some noisy) time together

Baby bath

It was a bit of a tight squeeze, but the girls managed it somehow

School party

The iceblock was good at the childcare christmas party

But the show got a bit scary. Bronte spent the rest of the party on my lap, though she has been repeating all the songs and actions at home.

Recovering

A bath with Zoe is much more fun than Santa.

Santa - ho hum

Bronte is a little bit scared of Santa. This is the one that drives around our streets for Rotary.

And when she is scared, she closes her eyes. Very tight.

This started on the big red car wiggles ride on Sunday and mum and dad can't but help giggle when she does it.

Dreamworld!

The Virgin christmas party was held at dreamworld this year - woohoo! First stop, the river rapids. Perhaps a little too advanced... The rest of the day was spent convincing Bronte to go on the tea cup ride (she eventually did twice) - but she was scared in the Big Red Wiggles ride.

Tiger Island

On the steamboat.

And the vintage cars - which was another double request.

And although she did not want to leave, she stopped mid-conversation on the way home with this the result.

The most fun

All the rides, all the entertainment, and the most smiles at dreamworld were from playing in the puddles and the runoff.

The big wet

It has been raining non-stop for a while now - the temperature hasn't cracked 30 in over 6 months. So, of course Bronte decided that now was a good time to start swimming - here she is in Zeta's pool.

A very big day

We had a very big day today. Starting with Spanish, followed by: baby cinos and milkshakes; nanna and lavender; lone pine and a scabby knee; Mt Cootha and an impeding storm; Ava and an outdoor bath; and finishing with some fish and chips. We decided not to go into the lighting of the Christmas tree.
