Kate and Sam came for a visit. Zach looked very big with Kate.

We know they are not supposed to smile for a few weeks, but apparently they can do so as early as 10 days. And given that Zach was 9 days late, I think we can claim some of these early grins - particularly as they are in response to his dad and sister's voices.

It is good to be home. Bronte was a little attention seeking, and needed an emergency visit to Ava. But mostly, it was just happiness at mum and baby brother being back.

Intoducing...

Zachary James Healy Ross! born 2:08pm on valentines day by c/s. 3.95kg, 35.5cm head circumference, 53cm long.

He was not the prettiest bub on arrival - with meconium suggesting the c/s was a good idea.


After some cuddles with mum, he had to spend about 20 minutes in the incubator as he had some slight respiratory distress.


But he recovered well, and quickly, and was able to have special dad time.


And by the end of the day, he was looking a lot more handsome - and very content.
