Onto the next
Bronte had another party to attend in the afternoon - that of her friend Zoe. Despite our best efforts, there was no sleep between events - but, lucky for her, Bronte was very well behaved. Another great party - this one with a lot of her friends from child care.
The Gruffalo party
After some convincing from her mother, Ava had a Gruffalo party for her 3rd birthday.
First, Kate read the book while the kids acted out the characters.
Then they made an ice cream Gruffalo
Then there was the most fantastic Gruffalo cake. Bronte, lower your expectations, your birthday cake will NOT look as good as this!

Trampolines
Apparently 3 year olds get trampolines for their birthday. Though perhaps they are like pools - better to visit than to own.

1 month - taking it in his stride
This month has gone very quickly. This month, Zach has started to smile and coo, and can roll onto his side. He has also had his first cold - a present from his sister, which makes him a bit miserable in the early hours. He is a very settled baby - waking every 3 hours or so during the night, and keeping his eyes shut while drinking (unlike Bronte who would want to play in the night). He can recognise his mum, dad, and sister's voices, and loves bathtime (he is now in the big bath).

Receding
Zachary has lost the top portion of his hair - leaving him with quite the receding hairline. We now know what he will look like in his 80's.

2 years 10 months
A very big month - the month baby brother came and Bronte became a big sister. There were some backward steps (hitting and screaming, back into nappies), but some very big forward ones - as she put herself to sleep for the first time (7 nights in a row now). She absolutely adores Zachary, and is an excellent helper. She has been making up lots of songs and stories, and is learning how to use scissors. Comparing her to Zach, she has grown up and learnt so much in her 2 years 10 months.

Sister cuddles
Bronte loves Zach lying down next to her. She is (so far) very accepting of his relative limitations as playmate - being satisfied with him holding her hand, rolling to her, smiling, and just being awake!
Morning cuddles
At this stage, Zachary is tracking like his sister - that is, off to bed around 9ish, up around 8ish. So - no early morning phone calls or visits, we are all likely to still be in our pj's!
